Open Source Involvement
Open-source software can provide substantial benefits to small businesses, by allowing them to use commercial and enterprise-level software for a very small initial investment. At Bentzinger Consulting we use a lot of open source software on a day to day basis. We also use a great deal of open source software in projects we complete for clients.
Contributing to the Community
We believe in giving back to communities in which we participate, and the open source community is no exception. We have sponsored the initial developement of the Reliable Archiver Suite, a set of programs for making backups more reliable.
We have also released the libraries written to facilitate the creation of the compiler that drives this site under an open-source license, and made them available for download. Modules are included to read HTML files, apply templates to them, and generate index data. The source code is fairly straightforward. This code is released in the hope that it will be useful; no warranty or support of any kind is provided.
