Objectives:
- Help small business clients find success in the area of marketing by applying what you have learned in the classroom.
Responsibilities (Can be Learned on the Job):
- Design and complete market research projects for small business clients
- Provide marketing related information and data for projects
- Work with clients to uncover niche markets and develop strategies to properly take advantage of opportunities which are discovered
Requirements for Position:
- Ability to independently locate resources and find answers to questions and problems
- Desire to learn and grow professionally
- Self learner
- A general understanding of marketing and the desire to further develop this knowledge through challenging projects
- Time available outside of work and school to study for school and to obtain new skills needed for projects at work
- Ability to easily acclimate yourself to and learn the user aspects of new user-friendly technology systems (phone systems, email systems, user logins on web sites, etc.).
- Ability to locate resources in order to tackle a problem or acquire a new skill
Qualifications Which will Improve Chances of Being Hired (Not Required):
- Some experience with market research
- Some exierience with strategic analysis
Work Scheduling:
- Specialists typically work 10-20 hours a week, depending on personal schedule and the number of hours needed by the company.
- More hours may be setup for time periods when classes are not in session.
